New director of group risk management at Invensys
Invensys, the production technology and energy management company, has hired Nick Smith as director of group risk management in London.
Smith joins from Pennsylvania-based Air Products and Chemicals, where he was most recently responsible for international treasury operations. Previously, he held various other positions in the treasury and risk management areas within Air Products, and he has also worked in the insurance sector.
Smith takes up the position immediately following the appointment of Chris Temple, previous head of the risk management team, to vice-president, health, safety and environmental.
Invensys has also hired Liz Oatten as director for group insurance. Oatten joined Siebe (one of the forerunner companies to Invensys) in 1998, and has since held a number of increasingly senior positions within the insurance team that she will now head. All risk financing staff, including those in insurance, will report to Smith.
Invensys' production management division helps clients maximise returns on investments and optimise performance across their supply chain with its technology and logistics consultancy. Its energy management business is involved in the supply, measurement and demand of energy and water. Invensys’ development division, created as part of the group’s recent strategic review, contains three business groups that provide operation and supply services for rail, wind and manufacturing power systems.
