Influential committees that determine whether credit default swaps (CDSs) will pay out may be about to undergo the biggest overhaul since their 2009 creation, as recommendations set to be published in the coming weeks would see the appointment of independent members, creation of a new governance framework, and improved transparency in a process some buy-side firms view as opaque.
