Asia moves: Deutsche appoints Asia-Pacific treasurer, Citi boosts Australian sales team, and more

Deutsche Bank has appointed Fiona Ip as regional treasurer for Asia-Pacific. Ip joined the bank in 2017 and has spent the last 17 years working for the treasury department in a variety of roles and locations. She was most recently Asia head of capital management and debt issuance, as well as treasurer for Singapore.
Ip will report to Dixit Joshi, group treasurer at the bank.
BNP Paribas has promoted Stephane Ritz to head of global markets for Asia. He will report to global markets head Olivier Osty. Ritz will succeed Pascal Fischer, who is relocating back to Europe for an undisclosed role. Ritz has been at the bank for 26 years, working in a variety of senior trading and management roles in Hong Kong, Japan, Paris and London.
BNP Paribas has also appointed Brian McCappin as head of global markets institutional sales for the region.
Crédit Agricole has named Antoine Rose as head of sustainable banking for Asia-Pacific. Rose has more than 10 years’ experience in the sustainable finance field. He first joined Crédit Agricole’s corporate social responsibility department in 2010, and subsequently the sustainable banking team in 2014.
Rose will be based in Hong Kong. He will report globally to Tanguy Claquin, global head of sustainable banking, and regionally to Cécile Bennehard, head of Asia-Pacific portfolio management.
Citigroup has made several appointments to its sales and product development team in Australia. Harry Benson has joined the Australian equities sales trading execution team, focusing on the country’s small- to mid-cap sector and the international client base. He joins from Redburn Partners in London. Equities product specialist Ian Nissen will relocate to Sydney from Singapore to focus on increasing the bank’s product capabilities across its platform, including cash and prime.
Environmental, social and governance analyst Hayley McGuinness has joined Citi’s equities research team in the country. She was previously a senior sustainability consultant at Ernst & Young, and has worked with corporates and institutional investors to across the sectors.
These appointments will be joined by four additional hires into Citi’s equities, fixed income, research and securities services later in the year.
State Street has named Neil Macdonald as Asia head of asset managers segment, a newly-created role based in Hong Kong. Macdonald will report globally to Donna Milrod, head of global asset managers segment and global clients division, and regionally to Mostapha Tahiri, chief executive officer for Asia-Pacific.
Macdonald joins State Street from KPMG, where he was head of the wealth and asset management centre of excellence. Macdonald has nearly two decades of experience in the asset management industry.
Prior to KPMG, Macdonald was the chief operating officer of global investment solutions at JP Morgan Asset Management. He has also served as chief operating officer for BlackRock’s institutional clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before entering the asset management industry, Macdonald held a number of senior positions in the banking sector, including Barclays and NatWest.
Fidelity International has appointed Gabriel Wilson-Otto as director for sustainable investing, based in Hong Kong. Wilson-Otto joins Fidelity from BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he was most recently global head of sustainability research. Prior to this role he was an executive director in Goldman Sachs’ global investment research division and Asia head of GS SUSTAIN, a long-term global investment strategy.
Wilson-Otto has more than 15 years of experience. He holds a bachelor of commerce and a bachelor of information systems from the University of Melbourne. Wilson-Otto will report to Jenn-Hui Tan, global head of stewardship and sustainable investing.
Hideki Ushida, managing director for the global markets compliance office at Japan’s MUFG Bank, has been appointed as a new director to the board of the International Derivatives and Swaps Association.
Ushida joined Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, a forerunner of MUFG Bank, in 1998 and has been in his current role since 2017. He will continue in this role while serving on Isda’s board alongside other directors.
Singapore Exchange (SGX) has appointed Pol de Win as head of global sales and origination. De Win will succeed Chew Sutat, who will be retiring from the company at the end of July.
De Win has extensive experience in capital markets advisory and execution of financial services sector transactions across Asia, Europe and the US. Prior to joining SGX, he was head of South-east Asia financial institutions and fintech.
The risk and regulatory reporting unit of Wolters Kluwer, a global financial technology company, has appointed Donna-Maree Vinci as a strategic adviser for Australia.
Vinci’s 30-year financial experience includes senior positions at tier one global and Australian banks. She spent 12 years as chief investment officer and global head of technology risk management for Citigroup, before joining the Bank of Queensland in 2015 as chief operations, digital and information officer. She joined Wolters Kluwer in December 2020.
Global risk and business solutions provider Sedgwick has appointed Kimberley Daley as head of professional services in Australia. Daley, who has been advising clients on complex litigation matters as a financial loss expert, joined Sedgwick in 2012. She has served as a key member of Sedgwick’s national leadership team in Australia for the past five years.
