'Wall Street West' plan for BCP

NEW YORK - Hurricane Katrina, the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the 2003 blackout in the north-east US highlight the need for business continuity sites, and entrepreneurs in north-eastern Pennsylvania are looking to make the region the next hotspot for Wall Street backup facilities, reports sister publication DWT .

As a result of the September 11 attacks, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other government agencies recommended that all Wall Street firms move their backup facilities that are 50 miles outside of New York City to 125 miles, and put them on a separate power grid.

In February this year, the US Department of Labor announced that it would invest $195 million in 13 regional economies
