CESR sets standards for EU tape

EU body has yet to recommend that all trade execution and trade reporting venues adopt protocol

The Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) yesterday published a report that proposes the use of a common set of standards for identifying trade types - to help vendors provide a more consistent view of consolidated time and sales data for European equity markets - and suggests clarifications to current MiFID trade reporting requirements to enhance data quality.

The report is the product of a CESR-led industry working group that comprises representatives from exchanges, data vendors
