Merrill, UBS and SG score highest in Thomson Reuters Extel survey

Merrill Lynch, SG and UBS scored best in the Derivatives and Convertible for Europe conducted by Thomson Extel for the year before June 2008. The leading pan-European brokerage firm for equity and equity-linked research was UBS, followed by Merrill, with Citi third.

SG was named top brokerage firm for equity derivatives service (based on commissions paid) for exotic OTC and structured products, with 17.29% of the vote; JP Morgan was second, with 10.61%; and Merrill Lynch third, with 10.32%. Research in the same category was again topped by SG, with 20.57%; with Merrill second at 9.82%; and BNP Paribas third at 8.47%.
