E-trading volumes on upward curve – Sifma

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (Sifma) expects e-trading to increase in 2007. According to a survey by the association, market participants believe that e-trading as a proportion of total trading could grow by as much as 38%, up from a 32% increase reported by the sell side last year.

The survey also reveals a surprising lack of preparedness for MiFID, the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, which comes into effect in Europe this November.
