Fix and Swift seek single industry standard

BRUSSELS -- Fix Protocol Ltd (FPL), which owns the intellectual property rights of the Financial Information eXchange protocol (FIX), and the payments messenger service Swift forged an greement in July to seek convergence of their messaging protocols.

The agreement, which centres on the adoption of ISO 15022 XML as a common industry standard, will for the first time provide a link between the front and back office operations of securities firms, Swift said.
