S&P and Icap to collaborate on end-of-day valuations

The deal comes in response to client demand for data for increasingly complex over-the-counter products, and to regulatory and accounting requirements for independent and fair valuations. The data is provided through Masterfeed, S&P’s consolidated securities reference data and end-of-day pricing feed service.

“As a result of this enhancement, clients can leverage both S&P's and Icap's data to meet increased internal and external demand for comprehensive, transparent market coverage and consistent pricing,” said James Rieger, vice-president of global evaluations at S&P.

S&P last year teamed up with Connecticut-based valuation consultancy Complex Security Valuations to extend its valuation service to cover complex and illiquid products, such as credit default swaps and collateralised debt obligations.
