Emerging market structured finance issuance set to grow

Standard & Poor’s expects new structured finance issuance this year to grow across territories and asset classes.

“We expect countries such as South Africa, Turkey and Russia to lead new markets in 2007 with large rises in issuance volumes, albeit off relatively low bases, and the securitisation of new types of assets,” says Perry Inglis, European securitisation head.

The agency says it plans to open an office in South Africa to service the growing emerging market sector of the structured finance
