Inflation a major risk for UK pension sector, warns Aviva scheme director

UK pension schemes are facing a serious inflation risk as quantitative easing (QE) coupled with a high level of national debt could prompt a high inflation environment, according to a senior figure in the UK pension sector.



Speaking at an inflation seminar at Cass Business School in London this week, Chris Wagstaff, trustee director of the £7.2 billion Aviva staff pension scheme and head of investment education at Aviva Investors, warned that inflation was a significant threat.
