EC outlines changes to Capital Requirements Directive

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on over 50 technical changes to the Capital Requirements Directive, which sets out the regulatory capital financial institutions must hold to cover their liabilities.

The changes to the CRD are designed to address issues faced by institutions with large exposures, hybrid capital, supervisory arrangements, waivers for co-operative banks organised in networks, and to make adjustments to technical provisions.
