Nascent green repo market promises new market ‘ecosystem’
Market participants see demand for repo backed by green collateral
For environmentally conscious investors, there is now a new way to be green. At the beginning of November, Eurex launched a general collateral basket comprising only green bonds, and there are signs of tentative take-up of the new product.
“We are seeing an increase in quoting activity and regular bid and ask prices, which is a first critical step to build liquidity,” says a spokesperson for Eurex.
