Asian manufacturing, whether it emanates from South Korea's miracle on the Han River or in China's similarly littoral Pearl Delta manufacturing heartland, Asia's economies, minus Japan, have been the engine of the global economy. According to the World Bank's East Asia Pacific Economic Update, published in October, the second quarter of 2013 was the first time in 30 months that the economies of Europe, US and Japan all grew.
