European Commission closes call for evidence
The European Commission (EC) closed its 'Call for Evidence on Structured Products' on January 18, with responses from around half a dozen trade associations and interested parties. The EC is due to put out a feedback statement then invite interested parties to a private workshop planned for April. An open public hearing should follow in June, with the chosen action - which could be regulatory - scheduled to follow in the third or fourth quarter of this year.
