Energy regulators eye Remit data for signs of market abuse

Power and gas market regulators are beginning to probe the transaction data being reported under the Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (Remit) for signs of misconduct, participants at the Energy Risk Summit Europe conference in London heard on June 22.

Speaking at the event, European energy regulators rejected industry concerns that their agencies would be overwhelmed by the flood of Remit data, saying they were laying the groundwork for a robust surveillance
