
Mexico to rein in CFE and Pemex market power
Regulators will check abuses by power and hydrocarbon giants

As Mexico liberalises its energy sector, regulators will fight to prevent abuses of market power by the country's state-owned energy giants – the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), the government-run electric utility, and Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the national oil company – according to a senior government official.
Guillermo Zuñiga, a commissioner with the Comisión Reguladora de Energía (CRE), says his agency and other regulators will work vigilantly to ensure CFE and Pemex do not
