UK Electricity Market Reform welcomed by energy chiefs

Energy executives welcome the UK government's Electricity Market Reform at a conference in London, despite some differences between speakers on the finer details and likely future of the legislation

Top executives at some of the largest energy firms in the UK rallied behind the government’s planned Electricity Market Reform (EMR) at a conference held in London by The Economist on June 10.

EMR, which must be approved by the European Commission, is due to come into force from July and will transform the structure of the UK power market. Although some parts of the legislation remain contentious
