China LNG demand forecast revised up by 48%

China’s seemingly unstoppable appetite for energy has boosted the country’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) demand forecasts by 48% from earlier estimates, as unconventional supply looks to plug the supply and demand gap, says a new report

China's appetite for liquefied natural gas (LNG) is set to rise by 48% in 2020, according to a report titled Race for Supply - The Future of China's Gas Market, by Wood Mackenzie Consultants. The Edinburgh-based energy research firm said demand for unconventional gas, particularly shale, will increase significantly to help meet China's strong gas demand growth.
