
Tricorona purchase aimed at bolstering Barclays' CER portfolio
Swedish carbon trading firm Tricorona will provide Barclays PLC with an "off-the-shelf" large, diversified certified emissions reduction (CER) portfolio, while maintaining a degree of independence, according to a source familiar with the matter.
"Tricorona's obvious strength is primary CER origination," says the source. "It's widely known that Barclays has not pursued that particular business model aggressively. Tricorona provides them with a large CER portfolio, 'off-the-shelf', as it were."
