Merger to create biggest UK carbon company

Two UK-based carbon trading investment funds are set to merge and create the UK's largest carbon company.

Renewables and carbon investment company Trading Emissions is set to merge with Leaf Clean Energy, which primarily invests in clean energy in North America, Reuters reported this week.

Trading Emissions has stated that a proposed merger takeover would be a reverse takeover under AIM Rules and subject to shareholder approval. The company has received letters of intent from shareholders representing 42.2% of the company's voting rights, while Leaf Clean Energy has received letters of intent
