No new coal without CCS, says Miliband
Energy secretary Ed Miliband announced yesterday that there will be no new coal plants built in the UK without carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, in a move designed to place Britain at the forefront of technological developments.
He also announced that up to four clean technology plants will be funded by a new incentive mechanism. The new plants include a post-combustion demonstrator and up to three further projects with pre-combustion technology.
