GFI expands freight coverage to South Africa

New York-based interdealer broker GFI has opened an office in Cape Town and relocated its global head of dry freight Dorian Benson there.

Benson will focus on dry freight, but hopes to expand coverage to other commodity products, including minerals.

GFI’s dry freight derivatives desk was set up in 2004, run from London and Singapore. It brokers wet-freight derivatives in partnership with ACM Shipping, a tanker broker based in London.
