Banks scramble for energy dealing

Barclays Capital in London is close to recruiting a 25-strong team of traders from Enron, according to the London-based investment bank. Barclays announced last month that it had signed up two senior Enron traders: Joseph Gold, formerly president of Enron Metals, who will head power and gas trading in Europe at the London investment bank, and Richard Lewis, formerly managing director of Enron’s European power and gas division, who will be head of UK energy trading.
