Bank of England Report Warns Of Operational Risks Of Euro Conversion

LONDON--The Bank of England (BoE) has issued a report highlighting potential disasters that could occur on the weekend of December 31, 1998 to January 4, 1999, when 11 European nations will join the single European currency. The report, which has been presented to the European Commission, says the conversion weekend poses "greater than normal operational risk for Europe's firms and financial infrastructure".
