A natural extension of the variety of alternatives on offer by CQS, established in 1999 by Michael Hintze, was a multi-strategy fund investing in a mix of its own hedge funds. The result was the CQS Diversified Fund, currently invested in six CQS funds, providing broad exposure and playing to the strengths of the organisation.

The aim of the fund of hedge funds (FoHF) is to offer investors minimised risk and volatility through a more diversified portfolio than provided by a single-manager fund.
