The equity derivatives award was fiercely contested this year and was arguably the most open it has been for years. Investors praised BNP Paribas for being highly competitive on price; Credit Suisse for coming up with a new product linked to equity default swaps (see page 40, Deal of the Year); Deutsche Bank for its all-round strength in the flow, corporate derivatives and structured product businesses; UBS for its quality of service; and Barclays Capital for its emergence as a major player
