Back in May, Credit Suisse issued the first of its Collateralised Equity and Debt Obligation (Cedo) transactions – a CDO referenced to out-of-the-money equity barrier options, aimed at exploiting relative value opportunities between equity and debt. Eight months on, the bank has raised more than $500 million from two transactions, is marketing a third deal, and has a full pipeline for 2006. All the while Credit Suisse has had the market to itself, with no competing deals yet to emerge from
