FSB endorsement missing from new G-Sii methodology

Financial Stability Board has not given seal of approval to designation method, French regulator voted against it

Insurers are concerned that the Financial Stability Board (FSB) has not endorsed the International Association of Insurance Supervisors' (IAIS) new methodology used to designate global systemically important insurers (G-Siis).

The industry has welcomed some elements of the IAIS's new methodology (released on June 16), which attempted to improve transparency in the indicators used for designation
