New online platform for structured products as Ice volume growth soars

The northeast US electricity market has a new online exchange dedicated to the buying and selling of structured energy products. E-lecTrade, headquartered in Tarrytown, New York, was officially launched on December 10, but has been in development for two years.

Mitchell Anderson, vice-president, sales and marketing for E-lecTrade, says the system was designed to fill a hole in the online energy market, where there are many established standard product sites, such as IntercontinentalExchange (Ice)
