Mixed reaction to New Zealand hedge proposals

Industry response has been mixed to March proposals for a mandatory hedge market for New Zealand’s electricity market. The responses, published by the country’s Ministry of Economic Development in May, indicate that generators are generally against the idea, while some retailers and end-users are broadly in favour of it.
