From academia to entertainment

FuelSpot was founded in 1999 as a provider of software, services and solutions to the refined petroleum products market, but was originally conceived as part of an MBA programme at the University of Massachusetts’ Lowell campus.

The co-founders of the company made major modifications to their original business plan for the dotcom company they visualised, but that plan was nonetheless the genesis for starting the company, says Paul Hutchison, president and chief operating officer of FuelSpot.
