TXU buys Amerada’s UK domestic business

TXU, the international energy company, has acquired the UK retail and trading business of New York-based energy firm Amerada Hess for a total of £117 million ($167 million).

The 400,000 customers that TXU gains from Amerada Hess bring its customer base to around 5.5 million domestic customers in the UK.
