SS&C expands derivatives valuation system

SS&C Technologies, a Connecticut-based financial software provider, yesterday made available a new equity swaps module for its debt and derivatives accounting and valuation application.

The new module can handle user-defined equity baskets, regardless of whether the user’s position is long or short.

Feedback from existing clients has been quite positive, claimed Seth Singer, vice-president of derivatives products at SS&C. “We expect to add a new equity options module to the system in the second quarter of this year," he added.

In addition to equity swaps, SS&C’s application allows analysis, risk management and regulatory reporting for a variety of debt and derivatives instruments, including swaps, caps, floors, forward rate agreements and options.

Worldwide, SS&C’s software is used by hedge fund, pension fund and institutional asset manager clients with more than $3 trillion of assets under management.
