Isda seeks development help on FpML for exotic equities

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association has appealed for help from the industry in its attempt to extend the Financial products Markup Language (FpML) to exotic equity derivatives.

Isda is working on a new version of FpML, which it hopes will become the industry standard electronic language for trading derivatives online. Basic equity derivatives contracts are tradable in FpML version 3.0. But Isda is hoping to launch a working party to create version 4.0, incorporating a wider range of over-the-counter option contracts, such as Asians, barriers, baskets, Bermudans, binaries, quantos and composites.

Parties interested in participating in the development of FpML 4.0 should complete the online form at www.fpml.org/wg/joining/join-form.asp.
