Asian bond platform goes live

BondsInAsia (BIA), a group formed through the collaboration of BNP Paribas, Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Reuters, has started live trading on its electronic trading platform for Asian fixed-income securities, BIA Trading System.

At the official launch, Hong Kong dollar bonds were traded via its BondsInHongKong local company, Singapore dollar bonds through BondsInSingapore and Asian credit via G3BondsInAsia.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to bring this new product to the Asian fixed-income markets – an electronic trading system that will specifically bring value and a new infrastructure to the Hong Kong, Singapore and G3 bonds market,” said Alberto Cobetto, chief executive of BondsInAsia.

Barclays Capital and Hang Seng Bank have joined as partners in BondsInHongKong, while Barclays Capital and DBS Bank have joined BondsInSingapore.
