DataSynapse adds IBM functionality

LiveCluster takes the spare processor capacity from a company’s dormant machines and puts it to work on large, power-draining analytical computations such as derivatives pricing and generation of risk management reports.

The New York-based vendor’s clients for its grid computing system include North Carolina-based Wachovia Corporation – which uses it in fixed income derivatives trading – and Abbey National Treasury Services, the wholesale banking arm of UK-based bank Abbey National.

DataSynapse won Risk's 2002 software product of the year award for its LiveCluster product.
