Swiss trade bodies issue new transparency guidelines

New structured product guidelines from the Swiss Structured Products Association and Swiss Bankers Association insist on clarity in product prospectuses and mean distributors must declare commission

The Swiss Bankers Association (SBA) and the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA) have issued joint guidelines on structured products designed to increase transparency in promotional materials and distributor charges for non-qualified investors.

The Guidelines on informing investors about structured products aim to protect non-professional investors by setting minimum standards for promotional documents. They will come into effect on March 1, 2015, replacing the SBA's 2007 version of the
