CaixaBank lifts structural deposit hedges to two-year high

Receiver swap notional climbs to €68bn as bank guards NII

CaixaBank added €9.9 billion ($11.7 billion) of structural deposit hedges in the fourth quarter of 2025, as it sought to manage net interest income (NII) sensitivity amid a pause in interest rate cuts.

The Spanish lender ended the year with €68.4 billion of deposit hedges outstanding, the highest level in the two years for which data is available.
