JPM stands alone as substitutability cap reins in G-Sib score

Bank of America crosses 500bp threshold for first time, as Basel continues review

JP Morgan was the only bank to benefit meaningfully from the substitutability cap in the latest global systemically important bank (G-Sib) assessment, with the ceiling keeping its official score below the threshold for the top surcharge bucket for the twelfth consecutive year.

Four other US institutions – Bank of America, BNY, Citi and State Street – also reached the 500-basis-point limit
