SFT exposures surge at EU banks
Jump in repo and securities lending activity across 31 European dealers elevated total exposures to €802bn in H1
Securities financing transaction (SFT) exposures across 31 European banks stood at €802.1 billion ($935.9 billion) at the end of the second quarter, up 10.2% year on year.
Of the banks analysed, all but two – BBVA and Erste Group – saw the metric increase compared with 12 months earlier, while 22 banks recorded growth over the first half of the year. The latest figures marked record highs at 14
