

StanChart’s derivatives exposures climb 42% in 2019
UK bank Standard Chartered disclosed derivatives exposures, as defined under the leverage ratio, of $26.2 billion at end-2019, up +42% on the year before.
StanChart also saw its overall leverage exposure expand the most of the three UK global systemically important banks (G-Sibs), by +6% to $795.7 billion.
The other two UK G-Sibs, HSBC and Barclays, saw derivatives exposures fall year-on-year, by -10% to $136.6 billion and -13% to £105.9 billion, respectively. Other top UK lenders Lloyds and R
