

RBS, Nordea escape G-Sib cuffs, BPCE joins the club
The once-largest bank in the world, the Royal Bank of Scotland, has fallen from the league of the world’s largest and most systemically influential banks.
The Financial Stability Board removed the UK bank, along with Scandinavian group Nordea, from its list of global systemically important banks (G-Sibs) for 2018. This means neither will be automatically subject to higher capital buffer requirements, equivalent to 1% of risk-weighted assets (RWAs) each.
