Ferma and ECIIA launch guidance on EU company law directive

Independence needs to be recognised as an issue of mentality as well as structure, according to guidance issued jointly by the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (Ferma) and the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ECIIA) on the implementation of the EU's eighth Company Law Directive.

Speaking at an event in Brussels on September 21, Claude Cargou, the president of the ECIIA, said organisations need their control faculties to think and act independently
