Sigor assesses QIS data but capital rule changes will wait


TOKYO – The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision’s Standards Implementation Subgroup on Operational Risk (Sigor) met in Tokyo early in July to discuss a number of areas it is working on, primarily assessing the operational risk data from the recent Sixth Quantitative Impact Study (QIS 6). Op risk managers are worried big changes to the way the non-AMA approaches to op risk are calibrated will appear – some expect it to be included in the so-called ‘Basel III’.
