Financial firms less tolerant of risks

NEW YORK – A new study shows that financial services firms are less willing to tolerate strategic and operational risks than their non-financial services counterparts.

The study, From Risk Management to Risk Strategy, was conducted by the New York-based research firm The Conference Board, in conjunction with consultants Mercer Oliver Wyman.

Some 14% of financial services companies in the study say they are willing to tolerate strategic risks from a significant to very great extent, while 22% of non-financial services firms say they will tolerate a significant or
