EU clearing houses pressured to diversify cloud vendors

CROs and regulators see tech concentration risk as a barrier to operational resilience

European clearing houses will have to diversify their cloud providers to comply with the Digital Operational Resilience Act, according to a senior risk manager. 

“In Europe, or at least in Germany, from [German regulator] Bafin there were clarifications around Dora that a single cloud is not sufficient, so there should be fallbacks – either two clouds or on-premises,” said Dmitrij Senko, chief risk
