Risk USA: Janeway to discuss the limits of modelling

William Janeway, vice-chairman of US private equity company Warburg Pincus, will warn investors of the limits of risk modelling at the Risk USA conference in New York next month.

Janeway will speak on the second day of the conference, November 15, at the New York Hilton. He believes that professional investors, such as hedge funds, run the risk of becoming too confident in their own models and ignoring the possibility of model failure. This is particularly important in assessing liquidity, he says.
