Relative values: JPM’s $260m China interns fine tops November losses

Although multi-billion dollar penalties are becoming less frequent as crisis-era misselling cases are finally settled, misdemeanours from the period still haunt many of the largest lenders. Last month, regulatory penalties accounted for the top three op risk losses in the financial industry – two of which had their roots in activities from a decade ago.

In the largest loss last month, US regulators meted out a combined $264 million in fines to JP Morgan's Hong Kong unit, JP Morgan Securities
