No industry consensus on op risk spending for 2004

For anti-money laundering, technology investment will fall in the US this year compared with 2003 as institutions meet the requirements of the USA Patriot Act, but investment will grow globally. Meanwhile, spending on business continuity planning is likely to continue to rise and fall as the industry responds to new crises.

These are the broad trends in op risk spending on which there is industry consensus. But there is difference of opinion as to just how and where the money will be spent.
